SAFE!

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and they are safe. Sounds familiar? It should, this is an awesome statement that King Solomon made and has reigned true ever since. I must say this though, at first this verse was a farce to me as it is to many others. It was only good in theory but recently it became practical. It was almost as if I was elevated to another dimension once I truly began to give God the place He deserves in my life as "Jehovah Nissi" "The Lord my Banner. He is truly my High Tower against the enemy. He is my shield and buckler. He is my Victor and the Captain over me. He gives me victory over myself in the areas of sin, sickness, poverty and every enemy of my life. Now don't act as if I'm the only one that has tried to avenge myself, fight my own battles, allowed the enemy to sow discord in my mind (especially pertaining to financial matters) and be distracted with a gripping fear of future paths. I hope this doesn't come off as one of those cheesy religious cliché's but I'm sure glad that I'm on God's team. Fear can paralyze a person from trusting God wholeheartedly as it did with me. We are preconditioned to want to control everything and provide for ourselves due to the society we are a part of but when situations are out of our reach and no amount of money can change the outcome of your predicament, God is "Mr. Irrelevant" on the "Let go and trust me list." As I mentioned earlier this whole phenomenon became apart of my life recently when being faced with some real challenges and I closed my eyes and visioned God as a tower of safety. At this point I can honestly say that the cares of this world diminished but the second I opened my eyes the attacks returned so I strongly declared that I will not be shaken and will forever remain in God's arms of refuge; speaking from this standpoint I don't mind pointing out that this side is more palatable. Another thing that the defeated one tried to attack me with is making me feel like a (L7 weeny) because I put my whole trust in God... believe me when i say this "You are more of a man/woman when you can hand God your life and tell Him to do as He pleases with it!"

Always In Love,
